Chocolate Cream Pie

This is a really good recipe that I got from one of my favorite books, PIE by Sarah Weeks.
1 C. sugar
3 TBS. cocoa powder
1 pinch of salt
3 C. milk
3 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
1 TBS. butter


In a saucepan combine the sugar, cornstarch, cocoa powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks and milk.Add to saucepan and blend. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and butter. Pour into a pricked, baked pie shell. Cool. Refrigerate. serve with whipped cream. Enjoy!
